Building a democracy for all of us.
Washington for Equitable Representation is a statewide, multi-racial coalition fighting for proportional ranked-choice voting and other democracy reforms.
How to make elections work - for everyone
Part 1: Why our elections aren’t working for most of us
Part 2: Better elections are possible. Here’s how.
Voting is the civil rights issue of our time.
With democracy under attack across the country, Washington has an opportunity to model a better way.
Proportional ranked-choice voting creates better representation for communities of color.
It increases voter turnout, helps candidates of color to run and win, and keeps elected officials accountable to everyone - not just their base.
We’re mobilizing for proportional ranked-choice voting in Washington State.
OUR GOALS ARE:
To support local efforts to pass proportional ranked-choice voting (PRCV) in city, county, and other elections
To champion the passage of state legislation that would advance PRCV in Washington
To build a sustainable, coalition-driven statewide infrastructure that puts communities of color in leadership to reform our democratic systems
To educate our communities and other organizations about PRCV
